Corporalis rehearsals (Belgium)

  • Event details: Retina will be in the final stages of rehearsals for their new production Corporalis that will premiere on Wednesday 30 and Thursday 31 January in Cultuurcentrum Berchem, and Tuesday 19 February at Nottingham Playhouse. Filip Van Huffel is collaborating with set designers Ruimtevaarders to create an architectural environment to inspire the choreography. 

Open professional class

  • Venue: Cultuurcentrum Berchem
  • Location: 126 Driekoningenstraat, 2600 Antwerp-Berchem
  • Event details: Monday to Friday each week, Retina's morning class is open to professional dancers. No booking required, just come along and take class with the company dancers while they are in the final weeks of rehearsal for their new production Corporalis. Class costs €5.

Corporalis workshop with Filip Van Huffel

  • Venue: Cultuurcentrum Berchem
  • Location: 126 Driekoningenstraat, 2600 Antwerp-Berchem
  • Event details: This workshop is targetted at professional/advanced level dancers, and is a special opportunity to get an insight into the production in a workshop led by choreographer Filip Van Huffel this Saturday 19th January. The workshop is organised by Cultuurcentrum Berchem, and will include material from Corporalis. For booking contact Cultureelcentrum Berchem.

OVSG workshop with Filip Van Huffel

  • Venue: Stedelijk Conservatorium
  • Location: Melaan 3-5, 2800 Mechelen
  • Event details: Filip Van Huffel will lead this workshop for OVSG about partnering and lifting techniques. Gaining techniques and learning how to lead your students into experimenting with partnerwork.

Corporalis world premiere

  • Event details:
    Corporalis is a collaboration between choreographer Filip Van Huffel, Belgian set designers Ruimtevaarders, Dutch sound designer Marieke Van de Ven and British lighting designer Andrew Hammond to create an evolving environment for one, two and four dancers. The unique space builds a world for Retina to contain their trademark physicality and athletic partnerwork. Performed by Pauline De Laet, Erin Harty, Steven Martin, Matthew Slater.
