Are you a 15-19 year old dancer that lives in the East Midlands? Retina is auditioning for new members for their Youth Dance Company. After their hugely successful performances in the national U-Dance festival for Youth Dance England, Retina is ready for its 2010/11 season of classes, workshops and performances. If you are a talented dancer that wants to improve your dance technique, work with professional choreographers, teachers and dancers, including Retina’s own artistic director Filip Van Huffel, and perform at profile events then come along and audition and join the existing members of Retina Youth. RYDC classes are every Saturday throughout the school year held at the College Street Centre, Nottingham, and occasionally projects happen on Sundays or in the holidays. Each week begins with an open class from 10 to 11.30am for all 15 to 19 year olds that want to improve their dance technique, taught by Ian Dolan. The class is then followed by a rehearsal for Retina Youth Dance Company until 2pm.
The technique class alone costs £3.50 per week, but if you are a member of Retina Youth then the class and rehearsal/membership costs £50 per term. Up to 12 dancers will be selected from the audition, taken for their skills, commitment and personal attitude to dance
