Retina Dance Company on tour
Page 1 rehearsals have finished and now it is time for Retina Dance Company to go on tour! The six dancers have been creating their new production The boy who never grows old with choreographer Filip Van Huffel over the last five weeks. Each week has been based in a different part of the East Midlands region and every day morning technique class has been open to local professional dancers.
The six graduate dancers have been enjoying the creation of the new piece as well as learning skills to teach dance workshops to all ages and abilities, training in Bartenieff Fundamentals and Laban Movement Analysis with Natalie Gordon and having music lessons with composer Jules Maxwell. From November 6th the company will be on the road again, teaching workshops and performing each week, starting in Northamptonshire for the week of November 6th, followed by Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Derbyshire and finally Nottinghamshire.
As well as the six dancers - Laure Bachelot, Tory East, Rohanna Halls, Stephen Moynihan, Hannah Shakti Bühler and Matthew Slater, PAGE1 has also incorporated a new post for administrator Lucy Lungley and film-maker Karen Bartholomew. So we welcome both of them to the Retina team.
We hope to see you at a workshop or performance soon. Check out the event calendar for more details.
