Retina Youth Dance Company
Are you a 15-19 year old dancer from the East Midlands?
Retina Dance Company is auditioning young UK dancers to take to Belgium. They are looking for 15 to 19 year olds that live in the East Midlands to create a new dance piece on, that will be performed alongside Flemish and Dutch companies in the Body Dynamics festival in Bornem, Belgium in October.
In partnership with Dance4, the regional host for Youth Dance England, Retina is looking for dancers with skills, but most importantly a passion to learn something new, push themselves physically and people that are willing to work hard to create a great new performance piece. Filip Van Huffel and the Retina company dancers will create this new work.
Interested? You need to be available for the audition on Saturday August 16th from 10 – 4pm at Leicester College and rehearsals on October 4th – 5th, 11th, 18th. You will travel to Belgium on Friday October 24th, the festival is on the Saturday and Sunday and you will return on Sunday 26th in the evening.
Retina is hoping to create an ongoing youth dance company that will be led by the company dancers, so this project is hopefully the first of many.
