Dave Boyd - Composer
Dave is an energetic innovator working across different forms and disciplines, challenging conventions with a unique blend of talent, humour and style. He has composed and performed scores for theatre, television, film and dance productions and been in receipt of Composer's Bursary awards from Arts Councils in Ireland and the UK. As a musical director he has worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company, The Abbey, the BBC, Radio Teléfis Eireann, and The National Theatre of Scotland.
His work as a facilitator has taken him to the internationally renowned Skyros Centre, the Outward Bound Trust, Trinity College, Dublin, Tisch School of the Arts, NYU and many international festivals. He is also interested in making participatory and interactive work - including award winning innovative productions and programmes at The Ark in Dublin.
As a broadcaster he devised and presented The Big Little Music Show, a 26 part series for RTE. Since moving to Scotland he has become a stalwart on the session circuit and resident musician at Dancebase the National Centre for dance. His recent collaboration with piper Donald Lindsay resulted in the album Salt and Soss.
